Dark Decadence
Vampires, zombies, and demons, oh my! Dark Decadence is a jewelry business specializing in acquiring historic pieces from unconventional locations, such as castles, cemeteries, or haunted asylums. In a world where monsters exist, the company caters to collectors interested in the strange and unusual.

The notion of “ghouls and glamour” sprouted from a late-night binge of Travel Channel’s TV show Ghost Adventures. The lead investigator of the show was using pieces of historic jewelry to elicit responses from the paranormal during an investigation. As an avid lover of all things spooky, Dark Decadence was born. ‘Dark’ refers to a preference for the paranormal, while ‘Decadence’ denotes a luxurious self-indulgence. The combination of these two aspects resulted in the creation of Dark Decadence.
The logo was initially created digitally and processed through
a program to implement the design onto any material. Then, white gel pens were loaded into a Cricut to ensure each logo appeared uniform. The cards were developed digitally, printed using a standard printer, and then cut by hand.
Subsequently, stencils were created for each icon placed on the boxes. To ensure that the application of these designs was precise, a grid was lightly drawn onto each package. A final step involved the application of clear nail polish to each icon to achieve a varnish-like finish. The same stencils and grids were applied to black tissue paper and then hand-painted.
